Introduction

Automated Release Notes (ARN) is an app that extends features available in Atlassian’s project management tool Jira.

It enhances the 'Release Management' capabilities of Jira by streamlining the last step in the process - which is, informing all stakeholders about contents of different release versions.

While Jira does have a dedicated Release Notes page, it may not be as helpful as is required by some of us.

Automated Release Notes goes one step ahead by letting us set up an instruction to automatically generate & distribute release notes based on different events in Jira or manually. ARN’s customisable template builder that makes use of JQL like queries can retrieve all the attributes of an issue including the custom fields. End user can customise the look & feel of the final release notes document easily with templates. These release notes can then be automatically distributed via pre-defined channels.
