How to use Screenjar app?

3 Steps to record screen & attach recording to Jira issue

  • From the two available locations (explained in below sections as - Jira issues, Customer portal) Screenjar app will take you to a screen recorder tab in the browser. Follow these steps thereafter

    1. This is how the recorder screen will look like

       

    2. Here you will see what Jira issue the recording will be attached post completion (e.g. AOS-4170). You can record audio along with your screen by turning on the ‘Microphone audio’ toggle. Clicking on ‘Start recording screen’ opens the following pop-up

       

    3. Select the appropriate option based on what you need to record on your screen. Once you click on ‘Share’ here is what the screen will look like.

       

    4. Clicking on ‘Stop recording’ will bring you to the following page. Click on ‘Upload to Jira issue’ and the mp4 recording will be attached to Jira issue in the background.

Jira issues

When the Screenjar app is installed on your instance, you will see an additional button on Jira issue details page.

When you click on this button, the app panel towards ‘Comments’ section of the page will open up & will display a link.

If you are doing it first time, the browser will ask permission to allow opening of new tab. Give that permission as it will reduce number of clicks for you to record your screen and attach corresponding video to Jira issue.

Follow steps mentioned in the first section to record your screen & attach recording to the Jira issue.

Customer portal

A screenjar action is available from JSM customer portal within request detail page.

Click on that action & the page will navigate to screen recorder. Post that follow steps mentioned in the first section to record your screen & attach recording to the Jira issue.
