Managing the Embedder app on your Confluence instance is nothing different from how you manage any other app there. Check the details listed below.

 Installing the app

How to Install?

You need to be a Confluence Administrator in order to install Embedder.

  1. First, login as the Administrator to your Confluence instance and select Apps from under Confluence Administration by clicking on ⚙️ icon at the top right corner.

  2. In the Find new apps page, search for Embedder for Confluence.

  3. Click on the Try it free button on the right side of the corresponding listing

  4. This will result in the Embedder for Confluence app being installed and activated.

  5. A confirmation dialog will tell you that the installation was successful.

 Uninstalling the app

You can remove Embedder app from your Confleunce in the app administration pages. Uninstalling permanently removes it from your application and file system. If you only want to temporarily remove it, you may choose to disable it instead.

Steps to uninstall

  1. From the application's administration console, click on Apps >> Manage apps option in the settings menu.

  2. Find Embedder in the app list.

  3. Click on the row to open its details view.

  4. Click the Uninstall button.

  5. Confirm the action by clicking Continue. When finished, a notice appears in the details view indicating that the app was successfully uninstalled.

 Disable or Enable the app

You can enable or disable Embedder app from the manage apps page. Disabling the app makes its features unavailable in Confluence, but it doesn't actually remove the app. Disabling the add-on is sometimes useful for troubleshooting Confluence problems. If Embedder app is disabled, it can be re-enabled later.

If you want to remove Embedder app completely from your Confluence then follow the uninstallation steps above.

Disable the app

  1. As a user with Confluence administrative privileges, click on Apps >> Manage apps link in the administration menu.

  2. Find Embedder app in the user-installed apps list by searching or browsing the add-on.

  3. Click disable.

  4. If prompted, restart your application to have your change take effect. Once Embedder is disabled, its features are immediately unavailable in Confluence. Any existing widgets from the Embedder app will stop working after this & may show an error.
