What is calendar feature?

The calendar feature within Employee Garrison is to keep a tab of important events related to employees within the organization. You can add different calendars of events eg. team member's birthdays, work anniversaries, leaves, etc. so you will never miss any important event related to your employees. If needed you can also keep a tab on the leaves of employees by adding a leave related event. Just apply the relevant filters and get the important data about every event or leaves. You can also check/uncheck the list of calendars to see relevant data.

How to create a calendar?

  • Navigate to calendar from left menu. (Refer image above)
  • Click on add calendar at the top right corner of the calendar.

Add a new calendar

  • Click on create new (Refer image above).
  • Add name of the calendar.
  • Pick a color of the calendar.
  • Make the calendar public if you want to share it with other users and want them to add to their own calendar.

  • Now at the end, there are three tabs called leaves, attribute/s (only date related user profile attributes), and holiday. In these tabs, you can select events and add a list of users/teams whose data should be visible on your calendar. With these three options, you can make the following data visible on your calendars -
    • Leaves - Leaves of selected users/users from selected teams. You can also make use of user status option for better filtering.

    • Attributes - Shows list of events depending on selected attributes like birthday, work anniversary, etc.

  •
  •
    • Holidays - Shows holiday dates of the selected schemes.

Please note, non-admin users can create calendars only with leave events. If you want to add a calendar for holidays and attributes, contact your Employee Garrison admin/super admin.

Add an existing calendar

  • Click on add existing calendar.

  • Select the calendar you want to add (you can see calendars only if they are made public by calendar creator) & click on add.

Use case of adding existing calendar -

A sales manager has created a team calendar to track leaves, birthdays and work anniversaries of his team members. Other team members need not create the same calendar again, they can click on add existing and add it to there own calendar. Note that, the manager needs to be made public so others can add it.
