What is leave policy?


Introduction

Leave policy is a group of different leave types. You can create more that one leave policy & each leave policy can contain more that one leave type. You can create a leave policy based on your requirements.

A few examples -

You have offices in different countries, then there will be a different set of rules & policies according each country. In this case you can create separate leave policy and enroll users from that country to the respective policy.

You might have people working in different shifts or working hours. In such case leave policies could be different. You can create separate leave & enroll relevant employees to that policy.

Attributes

Following are the different leave policy attributes -

There are three tabs while adding/editing the leave policy & each of the tab would contain different attributes.

Details

  • Name - Name of the policy

  • Description - Description of the policy

  • Renews on - Date when policy is supposed to be renewed

Types

In this tab, you can add different types of leave types. Example - Casual leave, Sick leave, etc.

  • Name - Leave type name. Example - Sick leave, Casual leave, etc.

  • Accrual (Days) - Number of days that need to be accrued on renewal of the policy.

  • Pro-rata - Whether the leave balance accrual will happen on Pro-rata basis.

  • Carry over - Number of leaves to be carried over on policy renewal.

  • Negative balance - Whether users are allowed to apply leaves with negative leave balance.

  • Payment - Whether leave is paid/unpaid.

  • Color code - Color code of the leave.

Employees

  • Simply pick users from the given user list.
