Clone an objective
An objective can be cloned within the same cycle or to a different cycle. It is also possible to clone an objective into a different level. Depending on the requirements, cloning can be done with or without KRs and their progress on the given objective.
Steps to clone objective
Navigate to Relevant objective detail page by clicking on the objective title from anywhere in the app.
In the top section on the objective details page click Clone option under the More dropdown.
Clicking on Clone, opens a Clone objective pop-up shown in below image. On this pop-up notice that the original objectives details are copied. The title of the objective has a prefix called 'Clone -', one can edit the title as needed.
Depending on how one wants to clone objective, all the objective fields can be edited. e.g. if objective needs to be cloned to a different level then select relevant level of the objective.
Notice the last section on the same pop-up, that has What to Clone option.
This is where one can decide whether KRs need to be cloned from original objective or no. If Key results (Except abandoned KRs) is checked, define whether the KR actions and Progress calculation will also be cloned.
Attention
If there are any abandoned KRs in the original objective then those will not be cloned.
Important points to note
Option for cloning an objective will be available only on objective detail page under More dropdown.
UpRaise allows cloning of objectives from and to all levels.
Clone action is available for admins and other users with sufficient permissions.
Objective cannot be cloned to any Closed/Archived objective cycles. Objective cycles with these statuses are not listed anyways in Objective cycle drop-down list on clone objective pop-up.
If the cloned objective falls under a future objective cycle, then the status of the objective will be set to scheduled.
If the objective is cloned from past objective cycle to the current then the objective will be in ready status.
In the history tab, the earliest item will be Cloned from X objective.
Once an objective is cloned, users with relevant editing access can edit objective if needed.
Clone comments, KRs and KR progress check boxes will be available on clone objective pop-up only if they exist in the objective.
