Setting up LinkedIn integration

Background

There are multiple platforms where users may want to publish product release notes or announcements. One of them is social media. Currently ARN supports an integration with LinkedIn. This allows users to make a LinkedIn announcement about the new product release. Read LinkedIn announcement for more details.

Integrate LinkedIn with ARN

  • As Jira admin, go to Apps Menu from Jira settings >> Configurations under Automated Release Notes section >> Integrations tab >> click on Add LinkedIn instance

 

  • Add Connection name and click on Connect your LinkedIn account

This will open a pop-up to add LinkedIn credentials, once submitted, final confirmation and privacy-related pop-us is displayed, confirm all actions, and the LinkedIn account is connected!

If the user credetials are associated with multiple accounts like on personal or associated company pages. Since one linkedin account can have multiple company accounts (organization accounts) then you can select where you want to post release notes announcements. Notice the Post as field in the below image.

ARN shows a maximum of 10 account entries in the drop-down associated with the personal account you have configured.

Removing a LinkedIn instance

Currently this is not possible from ARN’s UI. Raise a service desk ticket if the LinkedIn account needs to be removed from ARN.

To asscoaite new LinkedIn account, make sure you are logged out of the LinkedIn account from the browser. Then in ARN, notice Update your LinkedIn account. Click on it and integrate a new account by authenticating a new LinkedIn account.
